If you want to drive there, mind that there is no straight highway between Trencin and Kosice. Emma does not recommend you to take a bus, since it can take almost 7 hours. The journey takes less than 5 hours and you can buy tickets from the official webpage of Slovakian railways. The most convenient way to get to Trencin from Kosice is to take the train.
Trencin airport is only for local, private flights. Although, there is no air connection between Bratislava and Kosice.

Buses always leave from the main bus station – Autobusová stanica Mlynské Nivy. If you want, you can take the bus to Trencin, too.

One way adult ticket costs no more, than 7 EUR and if you are a student, you can have it for free (if you want a free ticket, you have to buy it at the railway station and have a valid ISIC card with activated electronic chip by your school). Trains leave from the main railway station – Hlavná stanica (fast trains and intercity trains) and from the Vinohrady station (only fast trains). Buy tickets from the official webpage of Slovakian railways. On intercity train, you will do it in one hour, but the price is higher. You can use train, as well, which takes around one hour and half on a fast train. You can take the car and drive on D1 highway – it takes around one hour and half. There are three ways, how to get to Trencin from Bratislava.
